Online Bullying
Bullying is deliberate and repeated harassment, threat, embarrassment, or targeting of another person. The online bullying category detects perpetrators or victims and identifies various forms of online bullying including ostracisation.
Children who are being bullied are sometimes afraid to tell their parent or carer about the situation for fear of reprisals. Finding out about bullying is important to be able to provide support for your child.

Official ONS data was studied by outdoortoys.com. They showed that 19.1% of 10-15-year-olds in the UK experienced some form of online bullying. This impacts both sexes, though it is slightly more prominent among girls, with 22.5% reporting experiencing this behaviour compared to 16% of boys.

Detecting online bullying uses many of the detection methods in the danger list
Importantly machine learning on anomaly detection can detect a sudden change in frequency of use indicating ostracisation. Natural Language Processing can detect concerning tone of messages. Other patterns and sequences that can constitute as bullying are detected.

Childline is the UK’s free, 24-hour service for children and young people. Run by the NSPCC, Childline gives children and young people up to the age of 19 confidential support with whatever is worrying them.
