I am delighted to be supporting the Big Sister project, with a particular lens on how this sort of technology might support young girls and their parents.

Big Sister and I align in the fact that we both want to protect children online. 

I am thrilled to be asked to support Anne and Big Sister as an Expert Panel member. It's vital that children and young people use the Internet safely and that parents and careers feel confident in allowing them to do so.

I am driven by a profound belief that technology, when wielded responsibly, can be a force for empowerment and equity. My work with Big Sister aligns perfectly with my commitment to create digital tools that prioritise safety, inclusion, and well-being—particularly for those most marginalized. By bridging the gap between innovative AI solutions and human-centred advocacy, I aim to help families navigate the complexities of the online world with confidence and care.

Identification of risk requires an understanding of specificity and sensitivity as well as social and clinical experience.

Working in a school with a strong pastoral ethos and a commitment to safeguarding, I am deeply aware of the risks young people face in today’s digital world. This has driven my passion for promoting online safety and empowering students and families to navigate the digital landscape with confidence. Being part of a project like Big Sister, which equips young people and parents with tools to stay safe online, aligns perfectly with my dedication to education and safeguarding, ensuring technology supports the well-being and success of all learners.

Much of my work starts with recognising the power of conversations around what many consider as tough topics. The Big Sister initiative core values align with many of those at Inclusion Psychologists and Six Stages Framework, empowering individuals and building bridges of empathy to start the process of change.

I am excited to be a part of the Big Sister Expert Panel. I believe the app is a fantastic initiative to protect our young people from the dangers that lurk on the internet. I also appreciate Anne's commitment to considering all aspects of safety from a very inclusive lens, ensuring that every young person feels protected and valued.
