Assoc CIPD, MSc, MA, PGCERT

Marcia Ore is a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consultant and Coach who delivers a range of services, mainly in the UK and North America. These include reviewing policies and practices, conducting cultural audits, acting as a grievance, investigations, and grievance appeal advisor, and coaching DEI committees and employee resource groups.

She has developed her skills, knowledge, and experience by working and supporting individuals and organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors in the UK and internationally, demonstrating her adaptability and global perspective.

With over 30 years of DEI, coaching, mentoring, training, and facilitation experience, Marcia’s journey began while serving as a Police Officer in the UK. She held several roles where she passionately challenged the structural barriers to equality, diversity, and inclusion in the police service. She delivered training programmes and supported the development of Police Officers and Police Staff at varying stages of their careers. Her roles included Vice-chair of the West Midlands Police Black and Asian Police Association, Chair of NBPA’s Gender & Sexual Orientation subcommittee, and member of the Association of Chief Police Officers Working Party exploring the career progression of women and Black and Ethnic Minority Police Officers and staff and British Association of Women in Policing.

Since Marcia’s transition from policing in 2012, she has held several paid and voluntary roles across the public, private and voluntary sectors, including roles with a strong focus on diversity, equality and inclusion. Marcia is on the Advisory Board of Inclusion and Diversity in Nuclear and the co-founder of Women in the Shade (WITS), which held its inaugural conference in January 2024. WITS’s vision is “Creating an environment where Black women’s talents, unique experiences, and perspectives are acknowledged, respected, and valued. She recently joined a mental health charity, Andover Mind, as their Community and Inclusion Lead.

I am thrilled to be asked to support Anne and Big Sister as an Expert Panel member. It's vital that children and young people use the Internet safely and that parents and careers feel confident in allowing them to do so.
