Sophie Penrose

Sophie Penrose is an experienced IT professional with over 14 years of experience in the Tech industry. As a Service Improvement Lead, Sophie demonstrates leadership by driving strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. For the past two years, Sophie has co-led an Ethnicity Employee Resource Group (ERG), passionately promoting equity and inclusion within the workplace. She is a committed race matters training facilitator and a lived experience speaker focusing on the complexities of multi-ethnic adoption. Sophie is a trained mental health first aider, further extending support and care for colleagues and individuals. Sophie's leadership extends beyond her professional role, making a significant impact on both colleagues and the broader community.

Additionally, Sophie has been involved in projects aimed at digitally upskilling disadvantaged individuals and partaking in mentoring programs to support the professional growth of underrepresented groups in the tech industry. Sophie is committed to fostering an inclusive and safe environment both in and out of the workplace and dedicated to making a positive impact.

I am excited to be a part of the Big Sister Expert Panel. I believe the app is a fantastic initiative to protect our young people from the dangers that lurk on the internet. I also appreciate Anne's commitment to considering all aspects of safety from a very inclusive lens, ensuring that every young person feels protected and valued.
