As Head of the Humanities Faculty and a geography teacher with over 20 years of experience, Shafik has played an active role in integrating technology to enhance teaching and learning. They have been involved in projects focused on the use of technology in education, including training educators on the effective use of tablets in the classroom and participating in trials to introduce 1:1 device programs. These experiences have provided a practical understanding of how technology can support education while also highlighting the challenges it can bring.

This has driven their passion for promoting online safety and empowering students and families to navigate the digital landscape with confidence.
